Rahul becomes fastest Indian to 2000 IPL runs

Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) skipper KL Rahul has become the first Indian batsman to score the fastest 2000 runs in the history of Indian premier League IPL on Thursday. In his 60th match in IPL, he stood against Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 6 of IPL 20 and reached that milestone. The previous records of fastest 2000 runs was belong to Sachin Tendulkar.

After the Wicketkeeper batsman reached the milestone, IPL official Twitter handle wrote,

Although, KL Rahul is the Indian to reach the milestone, but overall Chris Gayle is the man who tops the chart of scoring the fastest 2,000 runs in the league. The Caribbean batting monster reached the milestone in his 48th innings.

KL Rahul needed just two runs when he came out to open the innings for his team. In the second match for the both sides, RCB won the toss and elected to bowl first against KXIP.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led side won their first encounter against SunRisers Hyderabad by 10 runs with the heroics of Chahal-Padikkal. The young padikkal made his mark on his debut match and picked a win at the end. On the other hand KXIP was little unfortunate as they could not bring the match although they had enough scope. They needed only one runs from three balls but they couldnt get over the misfortune and failed to score one run from three ball which finally resulted lost their first game against Delhi Capitals in a super over suspense.
