KL Rahul returns to India team, replaces Dhawan as captain

Rahul was not seen in international cricket after February this year. He has been out of the Indian team for the past month due to coronavirus. India announced the team without Rahul for the Zimbabwe series as well.

KL Rahul has been named the 16th member of India's team to travel to Zimbabwe for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) from August 18 to 22. Rahul will also captain the team, with Shikhar Dhawan, who was previously slated to lead, now serving as his deputy.
Rahul was not seen in international cricket after February this year. He has been out of the Indian team for the past month due to coronavirus. India announced the team without Rahul for the Zimbabwe series as well. However, Rahul got the green signal to return to the team before the start of the series.
India named Dhawan as the captain for the tour of Zimbabwe. However, Dhawan lost the captaincy after Rahul returned to the team. Rahul will lead India against Zimbabwe. Dhawan will play the role of Rahul's deputy.
The series between India and Zimbabwe will begin on August 18. The next two matches will be on August 20 and 22. All matches will be played at Harare Sports Club. The series is under the ICC ODI World Cup Super League.
Rahul will be India's captain for the second time. His first spell was forgettable, with India being whitewashed 3-0 in ODIs earlier this year in South Africa.
