RCB failed to make their way into the playoffs this year. De Villiers did make some moments to remember including a flying one-handed catch to dismiss Alex Hales of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After Bangalore’s exit, Proteas star took a big decision back at home. He called time on his career through a video footage where he said that he wanted to let others to play and he’s tired.

Cricket world was shocked by AB’s sudden announcement. Indian skipper Kohli took social media to wish his mate best of luck for the rest of life. He tweeted that de Villiers changed the way of batting.

“Wish you all the best in everything that you do my brother. You’ve changed the way batting was seen in the time you’ve played international cricket. My best wishes to you and your family for this amazing journey ahead,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

De Villiers is still available for franchise cricket.
