Kolkata wants a Bangladeshi in their squad!

The players auction for Indian Premier League 2019 is days away as the franchises start to make up their teams before going into the auction. [বাংলায় পড়ুন: কলকাতার চোখ মুশফিক-রিয়াদের দিকে!]

Two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders are also searching for players to pick ahead of the auction. They have posted on their official Facebook page asking fans which Bangladeshi player they should pick at the auction.

The franchise wrote on their post, “Bangladeshi fans of #KKR! Since you know your players the best this is an opportunity for you to tell us which of the Bangladeshis you want to see play for KKR in #IPL2019. So just send in a video of you talking about your suggestions #KorboLorboJeetbo

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan are yet only Bangladeshi players to play for KKR. Shakib was with the team from 2011 to 2017 before switching to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mashrafe played only one season for the Knight Riders.

The auction list for the 12th edition of IPL includes only two Bangladeshi players – Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad. Both of them have a base price of INR 500,000 rupees ($70000 approx.) in wicket-keeper and all-rounder categories respectively.

Shakib is currently retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the upcoming season. The auction will take place in Jaipur on December 18. Will either Mushfiqur or Mahmudullah get an IPL team?

KKR retained squad: Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Prasidh Krishna.
