Bangladesh have chosen to bowl first on the first day of the second Test against Windies at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica. The visitors have made one change to their playing XI.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam has replaced seamer Rubel Hossain in this Test. Rubel went wicketless in the first Test. Abu Jayed Rahi and Kamrul Islam Rabbi have retained their places in the team following Shafiul Islam’s injury.
Windies have brought two changes. Injured Kemar Roach was ruled out of this Test. Pacer Keemo Paul makes his Test debut. Shimron Hetymer, who scored a hundred against Bangladesh in the warm-up, has replaced leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo.
Windies are leading the two-match series by 1-0 after a massive win of an innings and 219 runs in just over two days in Antigua. If they draw or win in Jamaica, it will be their first Test series win at home since 2014 (last time the opposition was Bangladesh).
Bangladesh will drop down to no.9 in the Test rankings if they don’t manage to level the series. The Windies are favourites to get back their no.8 position.
