Bangladesh opted to bat first with an unchanged XI. Anamul Haque’s slow start troubled Bangladesh early. He made 10 runs from 31 balls while Tamim Iqbal was set for another big score.

The Tamim-Shakib partnership continued to be mighty effective in this match as well. They put on 81 runs after Anamul’s dismissal. Shakib Al Hasan made 37 off 44 as he got himself dismissed by playing an outrageous shot off Ashley Nurse. Mushfiqur Rahim missed out in this match scoring only 12 runs.

Meanwhile, Tamim brought up his 11th century, his second in the series. He made 103 runs from 124 deliveries including 7 fours and 2 sixes. He aggregated 287 runs in the series, the most by any in a three-match series in the Caribbean and the second-most against Windies in three-match series.

With four wickets down at a run rate of around five runs per over, captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza himself came out to accelerate the scoring rate. His 25-ball 36 runs cameo boosted Bangladesh.

Mahmudullah Riyad finished the innings on a high. He slammed unbeaten 67 runs off 49 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Sabbir Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain contributed boundaries at the end.

Bangladesh put on 301/6, their highest total against the Windies in ODIs. The previous highest was 292/6 in Khulna in 2012.

Brief scores:

Bangladesh 301/6 (Tamim 103, Mahmudullah 67*; Nurse 2/53, Holder 2/55)
