Which means Gujarat have left Dwayne Smith, Aaron Finch, James Faulkner and UAE’s Chirag Suri with them as foreigners.

McCullum wrote on Twitter, “Injuries are not ideal but part of our sport. Compressed tournament & long travel can be gruelling. Sorry for not being there all the way.”

McCullum scored 319 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of 147. He is Lions’ second leading run-scorer this season. Lions have managed to win only three matches out off eleven as they are kicked out of the tournament.

The franchise’s next match will be against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on May 7. Their season will end with two home matches against Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 10 and 13.
