Sunrisers Hyderabad had a pretty decent campaign in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. They had mixed spells at the start of the season. However, as the games progressed, they started making a statement in the form of wins.

David Warner’s team qualified for the playoffs with a better Net Run Rate (+0.608) as compared to Royal Challengers Bangalore (-0-172) and Kolkata Knight Riders (-0.214). As a result, they finished third in the points table while RCB and KKR finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Sunrisers locked horns with RCB in the Eliminator where Warner’s team got the better of Kohli & Co. Delhi Capitals put an end to Sunrisers’ journey by eliminating them in the second qualifier. However, they will be looking forward to a great season this time around.

Ahead of the auction, they released as many as 5 players namely Sanjay Yadav, B Sandeep, Billy Stanlake, Fabian Allen, Yarra Prithviraj. Sunrisers came into the auction with only 3 available slots with just one for an overseas player.

They made some good purchases at the auction by acquiring the services of Kedar Jadhav for INR 2 crore, Afghanistan’s Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman for INR 1.5 crore and Jagadeesha Suchith for INR 30 lakh.

Who is the mystery girl?

During the IPL 2021 auction, the cameras were panned towards the SRH table multiple times. Meanwhile, the mystery girl in the Sunrisers camp stole the spotlight and pictures of her once again went viral on social media platforms.

In case you didn’t know, her name is Kaviya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad. This isn’t the first time she made an appearance for her franchise at the auction. She regularly visits the stadium where Sunrisers play.

During the auction, SRH CEO took to Twitter and gave fans update. She tweeted adding that SRH was happy with the way the auction panned out. Kaviya’s tweet: “We are very happy with how things have gone so far!”
