Mehedi Hasan Rana won’t let Andre Russell succeed again
Bangladesh young pace sensation Mehedi Hasan Rana may not forget a regret in his life. In the latest edition of Bangabandhu BPL final, Chittagong Challengers was almost certain there to snatch the flow. Infact, he bowled a great spell in the previous four overs.
But, How can Rana forget the regret of the match in which, Andre Russell took the match from him when he came to bowl his last over in the 19th over. The 23-year-old pacer may have regrets for a long time. But that storm of the Caribbean batting monster Russell taught him a big lesson. Rana has learned so much from Russell’s devastating batting that he is confident Russell will never be able to succeed against him once again.
Russell also won the title by taking the team in the final of Bangabandhu BPL. Rana was the victim of Russell’s destruction in the final match. Recently, he opened about the incident while in a conversation with BDCrictime.
“I was trying a lot (to overwhelm Russell). Nothing was working then. I gave only 24 runs in 3 overs. But I gave 23 runs in the last over. Russell’s bat seemed to have all the balls, even at the edge of the leg was a six. I learned a lot from this match. The next time I will face him, I will remember again- since this is not happening in the plan, I will go to Plan B” Rana told to BDCrictime.
Rana had played in Sylhet Sixers in the previous edition of BPL. Although he did not played regularly. He said,
“The Sylhet Sixers did not get much opportunity or could not use the opportunity in that way. I used the experience I learned from mistakes in the next BPL. The last match unfortunately did not go well. A lot of that happens in cricket”.
