Mehedi Maruf’s century helps Prime Bank to win

But Mehdi Maruf has recovered the team from the deficit by scoring a century that secured the victory for Prime Bank Cricket Club against Victoria Sporting Club by 130 runs.

On Thursday, Prime Bank collected 283 runs by losing all the wickets at the BKSP field in Savar. In reply, Victoria was all out for 153 runs in 33.5 overs.

Earlier, losing in the toss, Prime Bank displayed better performance in batting. Nahidul Islam left the field at the team score of 53. After that, Mehdi Maruf added 55-run partnership with Abhimanyu Yasran.

Maruf, who made another 51 runs in the third wicket with Zakir Hasan. After the departure of Zaqir on 159 runs, Prime Bank started losing their rest of the wickets at a regular interval. They were all out for 283 runs in 49.5 overs.

Maruf scored the highest 101 runs. He played 103 balls with twelve fours and two sixes. Asif Ahmed also scored 37 runs and Abhimanyu 33 runs. Monir Hossain took 3 wickets conceding 44 runs for Victoria. Moinul Islam, Rubel Mia and Islamul Ahsan took two wickets each.

While chasing the target of 284 runs, Victoria lost two early wickets before adding any runs on the board. Even afterwards they could not build any big partnership and lost wickets at regularly.

At the end, the chasing team was all out scoring 153 runs. Saiful Hridoy scored the highest 42 runs for the team. Nasiruddin Faruk 27, Monir Hossain 25 and Uttam Sarkar 24 are other significant performers.

Ariful Haque took 3 wickets with 14 runs for the Prime Bank. Al-Amin Hossain also got two wickets.
