Michael Vaughan mocks Smith-Warner duo
Suspended Aussie cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner are currently participating in the ongoing season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). On the other hand, the Australian cricket team is busy in a five-match Test series against India on their home soil.
No cricket fan ever thought Smith and Warner who used to be considered as the part and parcels of their home side would be playing in Bangladesh’s domestic T20 tournament instead of a high voltage Test series between Australia and India. However, a one year ban imposed on the Smith-Warner after they were proved guilty of ball tempering, made that happen.
The suspended duo both are leading their respective sides in the Bangladesh Premier League. Warner is captaining Sylhet Sixers while Steve Smith is in charge of Comilla Victorians. They faced each other in their first game in the tournament on Sunday.
Meanwhile, former England skipper Michael Vaughn who is famous for his mockery tweets against Australian cricket team and its players recently has come up with a social media post regarding the issue. While watching the match between Sylhet Sixers and Comilla Victorians on tv screen Michael Vaughn captured a picture of Warner and Smith and uploaded it on Instagram with a caption which says, “12 months ago who would have thought … !!!”
The former cricketer however also said that the ban imposed on them by Cricket Australia was too extream. He added, “Btw I think the 12 month ban was far too extreme.”
