Michael Vaughan shares words of wisdom for struggling Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli has registered three golden ducks in the ongoing edition of the IPL
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has been in terrible form for a long time now. His last century came against Bangladesh in 2019 and since then, he is yet to touch the triple-digit score in international or in IPL.
His bad form continued when he was dismissed for a first-ball duck against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently-concluded encounter. SRH pacer Marco Jansen got the prized wicket early on and went on to win the game by 54 runs.
RCB are fourth on the table as they have won seven games and lost six games. They collected as many as 14 points at a net run rate of -0.323. They have one more game in hand in the group stage and it's a must win game for them.
Meanwhile, fans would want Kohli to step up and deliver the goods in the next game against Gujarat Titans on May 19 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Michael Vaughan shares words of wisdom for Virat Kohli
Former England captain, Michael Vaughan has chipped in with words of wisdom for struggling Kohli. While speaking to Cricbuzz, the cricket expert said, "I hope Faf du Plessis has spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back 10 years when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and don’t have a kid.
"You’re going out there to whack the ball and have some fun. Forget your age, forget what you have done. If he gets to 35, I reckon he can go big. It’s just those initial 0-10 that he’s been struggling with. If he can get away and show a little bit of that youthfulness, he’s going to be dangerous," he said.
Kohli is still the leading run-scorer in the history of the IPL. The right-handed batter has played 219 games and has aggregated 6499 runs at an average of 36.3. Overall, he slammed as many as 5 centuries and 43 fifties to his name.
