"Mickey Arthur had personal issues with me at the time, but the team management at the time didn't say anything and they're still silent today." Mickey Arthur, on the other hand, later admitted to using offensive remarks against me."
Umar Akmal has criticized former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur for ruining his career, claiming Arthur was an unprofessional head coach.
"Mickey Arthur had personal issues with me, but the team management at the time didn't speak out for me and they remain silent even to this day. However, Mickey Arthur later admitted that he used harsh words against me.”
The right-handed batter also accused the former head coach of abusing him at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, where the incident was witnessed by former captain Inzamam-ul Haq and former leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed.
Umar Akmal revealed in an interview that he was one of the players who refused to take big payments in T20 leagues just for national engagement.
"I am one of the few Pakistani cricketers who have turned down lucrative T20 league contracts in exchange for involvement in local cricket."
In response to a question, Akmal said Imran Khan had asked Waqar Younis to send him to the 2016 Cricket World Cup 3rd pitch. I will be sent to the 3rd pitch.” IK had asked Waqar Younis, the coach, why Umar wasn't in the top beat order. "I was just curious about IK's experience against India," he explained.
It is worth mentioning that Umar Akmal was punished by the team management for apparently complaining to former captain Imran Khan about being moved up the batting order.
