Miraz gets land from PM Hasina in Khulna

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has received the promised land from Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday. The land in Khulna’s Mujgunni was granted by Khulna Development Authority (KDA). [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ  ‘বাংলাদেশকে বিশ্বকাপ চ্যাম্পিয়ন করবো ইন শা আল্লাহ্’]

PM Hasina had announced on November 2, 2016 that she would give Miraz a land. That announcement came two days after Miraz took a 12-wicket haul in Dhaka Test to level series against England.

Miraz was given 3.07 kathas or 0.05 acres of land at KDA’s commercial-cum-residential area under Khulna City Corporation.

“When I got a phone call from the Prime Minister and learned that I had a chance to meet her I was overwhelmed. After learning of my family’s financial hardship, she allotted the land as an inspiration, like a mother,” said delighted Miraz.

“I had to struggle immensely for this position. So I want to promote cricket and share my experiences with newcomers.”

PM Hasina approved the plot for the youngster for Tk 1001. The plot worths Tk 57 lakh. KDA arranged a ceremony yesterday to give him the plot. Miraz and his father expressed their thankfulness to the Prime Minister.
