Mominul wants both Shakib and Mushfiqur in Pakistan
The two out of three phases of Pakistan tour have already ended. The next phase will be after the Zimbabwe series. The Tigers will play a Test and ODI there in Pakistan.
The Test series is part of the World Test Championship in Pakistan. As a result, the importance of the series is immense. But the two most important cricketers will be absent in the series- Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. One is not against Pakistan because of personal and security reasons and the other isn’t because of the ban.
After the match against Zimbabwe on Tuesday (February 25th), Mominul told reporters that if he could, he would have taken both Shakib and Mushfiq to Pakistan.
It’s only natural for the captain to want the best two cricketers in the team’s misery. It’s not possible to get Shakib because of the ICC ban. However, Mushfiqur could go to Pakistan. If he changes his decision, he is not barred from visiting Pakistan.
Mushfiqur scored his third double century of his career in the recently concluded Test against Zimbabwe. Of the two double centuries outside the country, one of Bangladesh’s Shakib’s, the other is Mushfiqur’s. That’s why the captain may have asked for it.
Mominul said, “As captain I always want Shakib. Although that is not possible. But of course I want Mushfiq in the Pakistan series.”
