Mosaddek returns to Bangladesh squad for NZ tour

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced 20-member squad for limited-overs tour of New Zealand.

Mosaddek Hossain has returned to the team. He recently played for Maratha Arabians in the Abu Dhabi T10 League where he captained the side.

Nasum Ahmed is the only uncapped player in the squad. He was impressive during the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020 for Beximco Dhaka.

The squad includes Afif Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Al-Amin Hossain, Naim Sheikh, Shoriul Islam and Hasan Mahmud as well.

Afif, Mahedi, Shoriful and Hasan all were selected for West Indies ODIs at home. Hasan showed promising signs in his ODI debut series.

The squad is same for both the ODI and T20I series, considering a month-long series which is the first away tour since pandemic. The ODIs will form part of World Cup Super League with 30 points at stake.

Bangladesh will leave for New Zealand on February 23 (Tuesday). All the touring party members will give vaccinated. Some of the players and coaching staff have already taken the vaccine on Thursday (February 18).
