International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated the ‘ICC Test Player Rankings’ at the end of the series decider Test between the visitor Australia and hosts Bangladesh. Despite losing the last Test match against Australia, Bangladeshi cricketers has been improved significantly in the player rankings. For Bangladesh, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim who scored 68 and 31 in Chittagong Test, has gained one place to reach 22nd position with career best 658 rating points.

Alongside the skipper, Sabbir Rahman has also improved in the newly announced ICC Test Player Rankings. His 66 and 24 runs under pressure, have helped him to gain 22 slots to reach 73rd position.

Apart from the batsmen, spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz and pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman have also improved in the bowlers rankings. Miraz grabbed three wickets in the first innings, which lead him to climb up 29th position, while Mustafizur Rahman’s five wickets in the match have seen him gain 12 slots to reach 43rd position.

In the contrary, Nathan Lyon who was outstanding in Chittagong Test, picked up career best bowling figure 154/13 to help his side to beat Bangladesh and level the series, has gained his career best position in the updated Player Rankings.The Aussie off-spinner has moved up nine positions to break into the top 10 for the first time with career best ratings 712. While, David Warner has climbed to fifth position on batsmen rankings and Glen Maxwell has helped him to jump 16 places to reach in 88th position.

In spite of winning the last Test, Australia have slipped one position in the ICC Test Team Rankings. They are now fifth in the Test Team Rankings. Bangladesh have gained 5 rating points but they are still a remain in ninth position with 74 ratings.
