All the icon cricketers of the 2017 BPL except Mushfiqur Rahim, have been allotted to franchise teams. Hence speculations are flowing that the 31 year old middle order batsman is going to be enlisted in Chittagong Vikings.

Bangladesh Premier League technical committee chairman Jalal Yunus also hinted about the possibility of Mushfiqur Rahim to be taken by Chittagong Vikings; he said, “You know almost all the franchises have selected their icon cricketers except Chittagong Vikings.

As far as I know, Chittagong authorities are eager to take him in the team and they are trying to contact now. I think it is highly likely that Mushfiqur will be seen in Chittagong Vikings.”

Jalal Yunus also assured that the dilemma surrounding Chittagong Vikings’ participation in the 2018 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League has been solved leaving no uncertainty behind.

“The problem that arose earlier has been solved. They sent us a letter referring to withdraw their names from the forthcoming BPL. But they revoked the decision and informed us about participating this year’s competition. They also informed us about retaining four of their cricketers,” BPL technical committee chairman said.

Young wicket keeper batsman Litton Kumar Das became the new icon of this year’s BPL; he has been taken by Sylhet Sixers while Mustafizur Rahman went to Rajshahi Kings.
