Mustafizur Rahman takes the marital vows

Mustafizur Rahman has become the latest addition on beginning of their second innings of life.

The curtailed Test series back in New Zealand had afforded some extra time for Bangladesh cricketers and they are well in their way to employ that for better days ahead.

A day after Mehedi Hasan Miraz took the marital vows, young pacer Mustafizur Rahman also tied the knot on Friday.

The 23 year old fast bowler got married to Samia Parvin Shimu, an undergraduate student at Dhaka University.

The occasion has been celebrated in a private ceremony on Friday evening at Hadipur in Shatkhira, the home district of Mustafizur Rahman.

Only the family members and close relatives were present during the ‘Akdh’.

According to family sources of the fast bowler, the bride is his cousin on the maternal side. Mustafizur’s brother, Mokhlesur Rahman Poltu told to a Bangladeshi website on Thursday that the formal ceremony will be arranged later.

“A ceremony will be organized in the capital later for BCB players, officials, friends, and well-wishers,” Mokhlesur added.  The date of the marriage ceremony will be fixed on Friday, according to him.

Mahfuzur Rahman Mithu, another elder brother of Mustafizur Rahman said,

“Mustafizur was really upset after coming home, following the incident in New Zealand. That’s why we decided to get him married. It was my mother’s decision. The wedding reception will take place after the World Cup.”

Bangladesh next play the Windies and Ireland in May, in a tri-series hosted by Ireland in preparation for the World Cup.
