Naim Sheikh hits another fifty as BCB South Zone secure BCL final

South Zone did not have a good start chasing the target. Captain Anamul Haque Bijoy got out after being the victim of a golden duck. After that, Zakir Hasan and Naeem Islam were also dismissed, but Naim Sheikh's brilliant innings of 82 runs kept South Zone in the chase.

Opener Naim Sheikh, who was left out of the national team recently, is in great form in the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). His hat-trick half-century saw a hat-trick victory for the undefeated BCB South zone on Thursday. The team reached the final with 3 consecutive wins.
In the third round of the tournament, Islami Bank East Zone fell into a batting disaster after losing the toss and batted first. The team started the innings by losing Parvez Hossain Emon by 4 runs, then Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Imrul Kayes, Afif Hossain also returned to the dressing room early. Then, Mushfiqur Rahim was the only one to lead the team.
Tackling the bowling attack of Shoriful Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Nasum Ahmed, Mushfiqur played 111 balls alone and scored 68-run innings which had 4 fours and a six. The second highest 22 runs came from the bat of Rejaur Rahman Raja. Besides, Tanvir Islam remained unbeaten on 19 runs off 22 balls.
Kamrul took four wickets conceding just 37 runs for South Zone. Apart from this, Ziaur Rahman got two wickets and Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Arafat Sunny had one wicket each. East Zone scored 170 runs before being all out in the allotted 50 overs.

After Naim’s departure, Nasir Hossain's 46-ball 23 and Towhid Hridoy's 20-run unbeaten innings secured the victory with 6 wickets and 5 overs in hand, as well as securing the final. Mahedi Hasan took 3 wickets for East Zone.
