Negative expression the main reason behind Al-Amin's omission

The controversy surrounding the paceman Al-Amin Hossain seems to be increasing day by day. A few days ago, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had fined him half of his BPL payments (12 lac BDT) on disciplinary grounds. Since then, the selectors too have taken away their radar from Al-Amin. However after the latest inclusion of Shafiul Islam in the injured list, many thought this time around Al-Amin could get a go for the sake of the team ahead of the Australia and New Zealand tour. But even at this time, the national selectors chose to overlook Al-Amin and added the name of Kamrul Islam Rabbi instead in the 22-man preliminary squad for the upcoming tour.

As to why they have chosen Rabbi ahead of Al-Amin, chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, “Rabbi played a Test against England a few days back. So he was ahead of everyone else, that’s why we have taken him.”

Nannu also stated that negative complaints against Al-Amin also kept him out of any consideration. “We have got too many complaints against Al-Amin. So we didn’t even consider his name. The decision has been taken after through discussions with the team management and everyone else involved.”
