Negative expression the main reason behind Al-Amin's omission

The controversy surrounding the paceman Al-Amin Hossain seems to be increasing day by day. However after the latest inclusion of Shafiul Islam in the injured list, many thought this time around Al-Amin could get a go for the sake of the team ahead of the Australia and New Zealand tour. But even at this time, the national selectors chose to overlook Al-Amin and added the name of Kamrul Islam Rabbi instead in the 22-man preliminary squad for the upcoming tour.

As to why they have chosen Rabbi ahead of Al-Amin, chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, “Rabbi played a Test against England a few days back. So he was ahead of everyone else, that’s why we have taken him.”

Nannu also stated that negative complaints against Al-Amin also kept him out of any consideration. “We have got too many complaints against Al-Amin. So we didn’t even consider his name. The decision has been taken after through discussions with the team management and everyone else involved.”
