One cricketer tests positive for coronavirus in second phase
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has recently started coronavirus test for the players who are called for the under-19 camp which is scheduled to be held at BKSP from August 23 to September 18. Total 45 cricketers have been selected for the camp.
Yesterday the result of the second phase of the players’ coronavirus test was found. But this time, one cricketer tested positive for the coronavirus. The name of the affected cricketer is Iftekhar Hossain Ifti. For the reason, he’s been kept isolated from others.
In the first phase on August 16, 15 cricketers and 12 coaching staff went through coronavirus test. None of them were infected. So after passing the corona test, on August 17, everyone left for BKSP for the camp.
In the second phase, 15 cricketers were tested for coronavirus. In this test, Iftekhar Hossain Ifti was found to be coronavirus ‘positive’.
The BCB medical unit will keep Iftekhar Hossain in isolation as the report is positive. As the reports of the remaining 14 people came negative, they will all go to BKSP to join the camp today.
The coronavirus test of the remaining 15 under-19 cricketers will be held in the third and final phase on August 20 after the first phase on August 16 and the second phase on August 18.
