Saif Hassan tests COVID positive again

Bangladeshi young opener Saif Hassan has been tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time after he was diagnosed with positive for the virus one week ago. After a seven days interval, Saif tested once again which was identified positive again confirmed Saif himself in his social media handle.

Before announcing squad for Sri Lanka series, Bangladesh cricket Board BCB has asked the players to provide sample and only Saif Hassan was tested positive among all cricketers. Therefore, the youngster left out from the squad. But the youngster had opportunity to come back if he tested negative, unfortunately he tested positive again.

Opener Saif Hassan and national team coach Nicholas Trevor Lee were found to be positive on September 8 . A second sample test showed that Trevor Lee was recovered of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is scheduled to play a three match Test series against Sri Lanka in October- November window. A 27 members preliminary squad for the three-match Test series has already been announced.

Although, the series is close to the schedule, there is uncertainty regarding happening of the series as both the boards aren’t in good terms regarding some issues. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hossain Papon has made it clear that the Bangladesh team will not go on tour as per the conditions given by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

After Bangladesh declared to abandon the series if the conditions aren’t met, Sri Lanka misister Namal Rajapaksa urged Sri Lanka Cricket to review Bangladesh’s terms.
