Pakistan players, officials to pay PCB for COVID test

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked to pay the fee for COVID-19 tests from 240 players, officials and other stakeholders who are supposed to be the part of upcoming National T20 Championship later this month. Before they are approved for the tournament , the board has made it mandatory to take part in Corona test for 2 times.

The upcoming National T20 Championship will be take on from 30th September in Rawalpindi and Multan. Therefore, before starting of the tournament the board has asked to take the clearance for everyone appearing in the National event to return two negative Covid-19 tests.The Pakistan Cricket Board said it would pay for the second Covid-19 test as they have to pay for the initial test.

“The initial test the players, officials and stakeholders have to pay for the themselves,” a PCB source said.

Although, the board has framed regulations to do test but PCB has not specified any laboratory or hospital from where the players, officials and stakeholders must get their initial tests done. The Board has directed its players to submit their initial Covid-19 report to their manager or coach. According to the source , the board has started preparation for the tournament in a bio secured bubble atmosphere.
