As rain denied to cease off, the match officials called off the game at around 4.30 PM local time.

Pakistan Cricket Board Director of International Cricket, Zakir Khan said, “This week’s unseasonal heavy rains have forced us to review the series schedule.”

“I am thankful to Sri Lanka Cricket as well as our host broadcasters for agreeing to amend the match schedule to ensure there are no further abandonments due to rain in what is an important bilateral FTP series for Pakistan,” he added.

The decision of rescheduling the match has been taken in order to allow the ground staff to have some additional time for ensuring the playing conditions.

The tickets that have already been sold for the first and second limited over match ODI will be valid for the rescheduled as well.
