Shakib Al Hasan believes that his IPL teammate Rashid Khan, the No.1 T20I bowler will be a threat for Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series.
Rashid is on top of list of bowlers with 759 points. The Afghan sensation was the second leading-wicket taker in IPL this year. Sunrisers played in the finals against Chennai Super Kings. Shakib was a part of SRH line-up as well.
Shakib feels that both teams need to play their best. Afghanistan have the likes of Mohammad Shahzad, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman as well.
“His ranking shows how good a bowler he is. He is the No.1 bowler. So obviously, he will be a threat to us with the current form he is in. Same goes for all other bowlers in their team. Both teams need to play up to their potential to win. We will try our best to do well in batting, bowling and fielding,” Shakib said।
The series opener between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be Dehradun’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium’s first international match. It’s a eye-catching stadium in the northern part of India. However, Shakib is not worrying about conditions in Dehradun.
“The ground looks good. We are looking forward for tomorrow’s match. It’s little bit low and slow but there are so many grounds like these in sub-continent which we are used to.”
Bangladesh played a warm-up game against Afghanistan A team at this ground on Friday. After posting 145 on board, Afghanistan A went on to win the game by eight wickets.
