Ravi Shastri’s salary after reappointment disclosed: Report
India’s Ravi Shastri has been given a second chance to showcase his mettle as he was reappointed as the head coach of the Indian men’s team by Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
The Cricket Advisory Committee felt that the Shastri’s “communication skills and understanding of team issues” was certainly cut above the rest of the other candidates. Ravi Shastri who was offered a contract of two more years is expected to get a good hike on his payment.
According to Mumbai Mirror, CTC of the head coach will have a 20% hike. This will take his annual package to somewhere between Rs 9.5 crore and Rs 10 crore respectively. In his previous contract, he had been drawing about a sum of Rs 8 crore annually.
The support staff consisting of Bharat Arun and R Sridhar are also expected to get an increase in their salaries after which they will be receiving around Rs 3.5 crore.
Team India’s new batting coach, Vikram Rathour who had replaced Sanjay Bangar is likely to receive around Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore.
“The reason why I came in here is the belief I had in this team, the belief that they could leave a legacy which very few teams have left behind which other teams going down will try and emulate,” Shastri had told bcci.tv regarding his ambitions with the team.
“Next two years is to see the smooth transition happening. You will get a lot of youngsters coming — in both white-ball setup and Tests. You need to identify another three-four bowlers to add to the pool by the end of our tenure.
My endeavour by the end of this tenure would be to leave the team in a happier space so that they can set a legacy in the time to come,” he had added.
