West Indies have decided to rest fast bowler Kemar Roach for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, starting in Jamaica on Thursday. Alzarri Joseph is the replacement of Roach in the 13-man squad.
Kemar Roach will miss the second Test against Bangladesh because of the hamstring injury that was inflicted during the first Test against the tourists. Roach took five wickets in 12 balls during the innings victory in Antigua.
Alzarri Joseph, 21, who has six Test caps, has not played in the longest format since August 2017. He has recently returning to action from a stress fracture he picked up in December last year.
Joseph made his Test debut against India in 2016 and has played six Tests since then, picking up 15 wickets at an average of 38.86. He has also played 14 ODIs for 23 wickets, but has not made his T20I debut yet.
After the second Test at Sabina Park, the Windies will also host the Tigers for three ODIs and as many T20Is.
West Indies Test squad: Jason Holder (capt), Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Alzarri Joseph, Shai Hope, Keemo Paul, Kieran Powell, Devon Smith.
