Rohit scored fifth CWC 2019 ton

Rohit Sharma has been on fire in the ongoing World Cup 2019. There is just no stopping the India opener. The in-form right-handed batsman is only dealing in centuries in the tournament. He hit a record century on Saturday to help India crush Sri Lanka by seven wickets.

With that landmark, Rohit Sharma became the first batsman to score five tons in a World Cup surpassing Kumar Sangakkara’s record of four tons he scored during the previous edition of the tournament.

Further, Rohit Sharma became the 4th batsman and the 2nd Indian to score over 600 runs in a single edition of the World Cup. During India’s final league match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, Rohit Sharma joined an elite list when he crossed 56.

After been among some records on Saturday, the right handed opening batsman revealed about the valuable worde he got from former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh before the start of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

“He’s like a big brother to me so we always talk about the game, about life. So he said when it matters you’ll do it. So I guess probably he was talking about the World Cup. During IPL we were having a good chat around the game basically because he was in a similar phase in 2011 before the World Cup. He was not getting enough runs,” said Rohit Sharma.

“So what he told me was to just be in good space and that’s what he did that’s why you know he was so successful at that World Cup. So that that is the chat we had,” he added.

At the same time, Yuvraj Singh made some tweets in social media by claiming Rohit Sharma as the man of the series at the end of World Cup. Even he had some serious arguments with Kevin Pietersen regarding the matter.
