Rohit Sharma might be rested for West Indies ODIs

Indian right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma is likely to get a rest for the upcoming home ODI series against West Indies.

India are now busy in gearing up for their first ever day-night Test which will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata against Bangladesh. Also it will be the first day-night Test for Bangladesh too. The historical Test will be the end to Bangladesh’s short outing in India.

Following that, India will host West Indies three ODIs and three T20Is. Both the teams will play the three T20Is on December 6, 8 and 11. Following the T20Is, the two team will play three ODIs on December 15, 18 and 22.

Ahead of the ODI series, there are some reports claiming that the vice-captain Rohit Sharma might be rested considering his continuous work load. Recently Virat Kohli was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh and Rohit Sharma led the team for yet another successful home series.

Rohit Sharma is busy with the Indian team since the New Zealand series earlier this year. Following that Rohit Sharma appeared in all the limited over series as well as Test series played by India including ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Recently Rohit Sharma has turned out as opener for India in Tests and he is enjoying some success there too after having some bad phases in the Test cricket. Since the Mumbai batsman is busy in all three formats, he might get some time to free off during the ODI series against West Indies.
