Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain says he has been victimized of social media rumour as some online news portals on Tuesday published some unauthentic news claiming the player would be sent back to Bangladesh in the middle of the Caribbean tour.
That unauthentic news also claimed Rubel had a fight with one of his team members. But while talking to bdcrictime Rubel said, nothing like that happened with any of the members of the team and he was upset with such rumours. “These are not true. I am shocked and upset to see such news,” Rubel told bdcrictime on Wednesday evening.
Earlier, the 28-year old pacer made a clear statement through a Facebook post and labelled such speculations as ‘false and baseless’. “I want to make one thing very clear. Each of the teammates in our team has a brother-like relationship with each other. But in recent times, I have noticed that some online portals have been spreading rumours. Such incidents are completely false and baseless. I am very disappointed and shocked about this,” Rubel said.
Meanwhile, Rubel Hossain’s performance was disappointing in the first match as he failed to pick up a wicket and Bangladesh slipped to a loss by an innings and 219 runs in three days.
