Prior to the three-match ODI series, the Tigers will play a warm-up match against a local side. In order to take part in the only warm-up match, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is sending Abul Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin to Sri Lanka.

The participation of these two pace all-rounders in the warm-up match has been confirmed by the chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu on Saturday. According to him, the move has been initiated in a bid to provide some of the players — who played in the Test series — with some rest.

“We are sending Saifuddin and Abul to Sri Lanka,” said Nannu. “It’s in order to give a number of Test players some rest. They will leave Dhaka on Sunday. We are doing this on the basis of the request by the team management.”

To be noted, Saifuddin and Abul will also play in the Emerging Asia Cup starting from March 27 in Dhaka.
