Saifuddin awaits for dream Test debut
Bangladesh pace bowling all rounder is Mohammad Saifuddin has been one of the most important asset for Bangladesh in shorter format specially in T20. Therefore, as a pace bowling all-rounder, he has cemented his place in the ODI and T20 format but his biggest dream to feature in the longest format and he is awaiting for the dream to come true.
Although, he hadn’t any scope to feature in the longer format , this time the young all-rounder was fascinated by the dream of getting a call-up as he has been picked in the preliminary squad for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
Saifuddin has played 22 ODIs and 15 T20s so far. With that experience in the international cricket arena, Saifuddin was supposed to play for the country in aesthetic version of cricket but injury has ruined some opportunities for him. He has been out of the field for a long time in the past due to a back injury. So the selectors had to decide precisely for his inclusion. Although the injury did not heal completely, Saifuddin has returned to the field with a lot of fitness ahead of the Test series.
Saifuddin keen to do well in the longer version and he awaits his chance to play in the longer version.
”Every cricketer dreams of becoming a Test cricketer,” he said. This is the first time I have been called up to the Test squad. I will try my best if I get a chance”
Saifuddin is currently having a skill camp at the ‘Home of Cricket’ as he is a part of the preliminary squad announced for the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka. The pace bowling all rounder feels fascinating to be back in cricket after a long break due to ongoing pandemic.
” Alhamdulillah, I am practicing with the team in Mirpur after a long 6-7 months. Actually, I am very happy to be here again. I bowled at the central wicket with enthusiasm. I will have some more days ahead before the series.I will try to improve as much as possible” said saifuddin.
