Salman Butt replaces injured Hafeez in Lahore Qalandars
Lahore Qalandars have signed left-handed batsman Salman Butt as the replacement of injured Mohammad Hafeez.
Hafeez is ruled out of the tournament due to finger injury. He sustained an injury to his right thumb while fielding off his own bowling against Karachi Kings when Colin Ingram struck a powerful shot back at him.
Hafeez was immediately taken off the field after he was struck and he missed the next game against Peshawar Zalmi. Former Proteas skipper AB de Villiers led the side in that game.
After the reports came in, it was informed that Hafeez will l stay out of action for 4 to 6 weeks as he needs surgery.
Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars announced Hafeez’s replacement on Tuesday. Salman Butt, who has been a part of the player draft for the last three years has finally got the opportunity to play in the tournament. Butt has played 78 T20s where he scored 2,278 runs at an average of over 36 with a strike-rate of 113.5.
Lahore have played three matches so far in this year’s PSL and they have won one while lost two. They will face Multan Sultans next on February 22.
