Royale Challengers Bangalore fall short of 19 runs in the high scoring match against Rajasthan Royals in the eleventh match of the Indian Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Running towards the target of 217 runs, Royale Challengers Bangalore completed their 20 overs at the score of 198 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli registered the highest innings for the team scoring a high strung 57 runs encountering 30 balls striking 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Former Kiwi master hitter Brendon McCullum failed once again in the opening followed by Quinton de Kock who put a 77 run second wicket partnership with captain Virat Kohli.

The previous match thunderstorm AB de Villiers started well but could not continue after 20 off 18 with a single shot of four and six.

Royale Challengers Bangalore fall behind the run rate losing top batsmen before the finishing line. Mandeep Singh stayed unbeaten till the end, missing the half century for three. He was there scoring 47 runs off 25 balls.

Washington Sundar’s 35 run only managed to shorten the defeat margin. He played 19 deliveries hitting 1 four and 3 sixes.

The first half of the match was dominated by Rajasthan Royals batsmen proving RCB skipper Virat Kohli’s decision of bowling wrong at the beginning.

The batting display was predominantly monopolized by Sanju Samson. The 22 year old wicket keeper batsman from Kerala put up a grand show for Rajasthan.

With a strike rate of more than 200, Sanju Samson was not out at 92 runs. He made 10 strikes of sixes on contrary to 2 shots of fours in his 45 ball innings.

Rajasthan lost only 4 wickets to reach 217 runs in their stipulated 20 overs.

Ajinkya Rahane and D Arcy Short compound 49 runs in the opening partnership while two high profile English recruits of Rajasthan Royals, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler contributed 27 and 23 runs respectively.

With this win, Rajasthan Royals moved to the third spot in the point table having 4 points winning 2 matches out of total three they played so far.
