'Fearless Cricket' was one of the most talked about topics of Bangladesh cricket during the last visit to Zimbabwe. Especially around the T20 series, this was practiced more.
However, before the ODI series defeat, the Tigers lost the series in the T20 by the same margin of 2-1. Meanwhile, Khaled Mahmud Sujon speaks about 'Fearless Cricket' again before the upcoming Asia Cup. Bangladesh want to play aggressive cricket under Shakib as captain.
Expressing the regret about the Zimbabwean tour, Sujon said,
"Even before going to the Zimbabwe tour, I emphasized on one word again and again, 'Fearless Cricket'. I think we played a lot of fair cricket in the first two T20s. In the third T20, we did not play as expected. I don't think we played good cricket to be honest."
But in this format, Sujon is seeing new hopes under the new captain Shakib. He added, “Shakib is an attacking captain. Definitely, we want to play that (fearless) kind of cricket. I am not saying that Bangladesh will suddenly change and become the Asia Cup champion. But we want to find a way to do well in this format."
Sujon further said, “In a 120-ball game, you have very little time to make that decision. You have to hit instantly. That aggressive, fearless cricket is what we want in all of us. I believe we will think that way in the Asia Cup."
