Shakib-Mehidy move up, Mushfiq-Mominul go down in ICC Test rankings

After a thumping 2-0 series win against Windies, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan moved up in the ICC Test rankings.

Bangladesh stood too tall for Windies in both the matches of the Test series and the duo played a vital role in their side’s dominating win.

Mehidy picked up 7/58 and 5/59 in the second Test and tore apart the Windies while the Bangladesh captain, who made a comeback after a long-term injury was named man of the series for his all-rounder performance throughout the series.

Youngster Mehidy moved up 14 spots to No.16 in the ICC Test Bowlers ranking and achieved his career-best 696 rating points while Shakib moved up seven places to No.21 in the ICC Test Batsman ranking after scoring 80 runs in the second Test match.

Mahmudullah, who scored hundred in back to back series also moved up 15 places to 48th place. However, Mushfiqur Rahim (down seven to No.28) and Mominul Haque (down two places to No.26) moved down after failing to perform well in the Test series.
