Shamsur not giving up

Shamsur Rahman is out of Bangladesh national cricket team for a long time. The highest run-getter in Dhaka Premier League before the start of Super League stage was left out of preliminary squad in the upcoming England series. Still he is not giving up.

Shamsur, who played 6 Tests, 10 ODIs and 9 T20Is has recently joined the High Performance (HP) Unit squad. He said on Saturday that he is happy of what he has been doing in domestic cricket.

He said, “It feels really good when I score runs. I have been doing well in domestic leagues and I’m known for that. That is why some good teams want me in the team. This is a responsibility on me. It gives me inspiration to do well. I was the top-scorer in DPL before the start of Super League stage.”

The right-hander hoped of being called in the preliminary squad as he did well in DPL. But it didn’t happen.

“What have I done, I thought I will be in the preliminary squad. But I have nothing to do about it. My job is to do as much well I can. I think I’ve done that. If I play well, be honest, one day I will return again,” Shamsur said.

But Shamsur Rahman is not giving up yet. He further added, “It was tough all time. But I never faced this kind of tough situations like this before. I think it’s good for me. At this, everyone becomes aware of their works. Now, there are 10-12 competitors in every sections. Still it’s not impossible. The selectors will always consider if I do well.
