Shanto XI win practice match comprehensively
Bangladesh played a warm-up game in Queensland dividing into two teams named Shanto XI and Tamim XI. The first ODI is set to be played on March 20.
Shanto XI showed a dominant display with the bat as they beat Tamim XI comprehensively by 9 wickets, chasing 233 runs. All the batsmen had runs in their bat with Liton Kumar Das scoring the highest. He retired on 59 while Mehidy Hasan retired on 50.
On the other hand, skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto also played a good knock with the bat. He retired on 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim (54) retired after scoring a fifty. Mustafizur Rahman managed to pick up the only wicket for Tamim XI.
Earlier, Tamim XI scored 233 runs with the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs. Mohammad Mithun remained unbeaten on 66* to finish the innings. Mahedi Hasan (38) and Mahmudullah also played decent innings with the bat. Skipper Tamim Iqbal had a poor start with the bat.
Rubel Hossain was on fire with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets and only conceded 42 runs. After an eventful warm-up game, the visitors will take on New Zealand in the first ODI on March 20.
