Shaun Pollock makes a statement on Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is one of the emerging all-rounders in the game now. He is been a result to the search of the Indian team for a proper pace bowling all-rounder. Since his debut almost he is playing every games for India except a break at Nidhas trophy.

So far he has played 7 test matches and picked 7 wickets only. In the batting department he has scored 368 runs with an average of 37 with one century and three half centuries. Even though his batting performances looks decent but he has to step up in the bowling. Specially the team needs more from him in the overseas tours.

Now some questions are rising about his place in the test team because of his poor bowling display. At this time one of the finest all-rounders played the game, Shaun Pollock has came up with a statement in support to the Indian fast bowling all-rounder. Shaun Pollock started his career as a new ball bowler to the team and later became an all-rounder to the team at no.8 position.

In Pandya’s case he said “Coming to Indian cricket, Pandya is probably a long-term all-round option. I think Virat Kohli really likes his style and attitude towards the game. Looks like he can get both wickets and runs; of course, time will tell everything. Hardik needs to settle down and choose one of the disciplines (batting or bowling), something that keeps him in the side, and look to contribute on the other as it can be very difficult to contribute with both.”

“If he settles down and gets a good run, there is no reason why he can’t become a wonderful all-rounder for India”, he further added. Overall Pollock wants him to concentrate on one department first and settle down. Then he needs to step up in the next department.
