Prithvi Shaw, the star opener of Delhi Capitals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been all set to rejoin the team again after he’s hospitalized last week due to illness. Earlier, the team's assistant coach Shane Watson hinted about his unavailability in the rest of the two matches of Delhi.
Despite having two half-centuries in the tournament, Shaw wasn’t in full rhythm with the bat in this year’s tournament. However, he was one of the main pillars of the team's batting as he always made a brisk start to give a nice starting to the team.
Shaw missed Delhi’s last three matches because of illness. He played last on May 01 against Lucknow Super Giants. Delhi captain Rishabh Pant said the opener was suffering from fever. But that fever has not gone away yet. Although typhoid was suspected, tests showed that the disease was not typhoid.
Recently the batsman has posted a picture from his hospital bed on Instagram and said that he’s hopeful for his recovery soon.
“When they play their next game against Punjab Kings on Monday evening, Shaw is very likely to be available,” a source told to Times of India.
Delhi have been in contention for playoffs as they earn 12 points from 12 matches till now.
