Soumya Sarkar added to Bangladesh third ODI squad

All-rounder Soumya Sarkar has been included to the Bangladesh side for their third and final ODI against Zimbabwe, informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) through an official statement on Tuesday (March 4).Soumya Sarkar added to Bangladesh third ODI squad

The left-hander missed the lone Test as well as the first two 50-over matches against Zimbabwe due to marriage, and now joins a squad that otherwise remains unchanged from the first ODI matches.

Bangladesh have already secured the series, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead. After registering an emphatic 169-run victory in the first ODI on March 1, the Tigers narrowly survived an upset when they won the second match by 4 runs on March 3.

Earlier Bangladesh had emerged victorious in the one-off Test in Dhaka as well, winning the match by an innings and 106 runs to start the series on a high.

The third ODI will be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday (March 6).

Keeping in mind the forthcoming one-off ODI match during their third and final stage of the Pakistan tour, Bangladesh may bring up a couple of changes in Friday’s playing XI, with Mushfiqur Rahim’s exclusion likely as he will not travel to Pakistan.

There is also high possibility that this ODI might be the one where Mashrafe steps in as the Bangladesh captain for the very last time.
