After around three years, national team hard hitter Soumya Sarkar touched the triple digit in domestic competition. Playing for Agrani Bank Limited, Soumya hammered a vibrant hundred against Brothers at BKSP ground number three.
Riding upon the excellent 154 runs knock from Soumya Sarkar, Agrani Bank scored 334 runs after batting first in the relegation league.
The number of sixes hit by the national team hard hitter eclipsed the number of boundaries. He smashed 11 sixes on contrary to 9 shots to the boundary. He played 127 balls all together.
Soumya’s last domestic ton came up in 2015 in Bangladesh Cricket League where he played 127 run innings against North Zone.
This is, however, the first century for Soumya Sarkar in terms of both international and domestic cricket. His last international hundred came against Pakistan back in 2015.
The left handed batsman scored a century only in one day international across three formats of cricket.
Batted in 92 innings of 51 first class matches, Soumya Sarkar scored 2461 runs while his List A career is also running smoothly. He scored 2606 list A runs batting in 91 innings.
