South Africa announce squad for World Cup

Cricket South Africa (CSA) have announced their 15-man squad on Thursday for the upcoming World Cup in England.

A couple of hours after Sri Lanka announced their World Cup squad, South Africa become the seventh team to announce their squad for the World Cup, which is set to kick-off on May 30. They will be playing their opening game against hosts England.

Faf du Plessis will lead the side and he also gave an encouraging speech which was shown in the squad announcement ceremony.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) selector Linda Zondi said before announcing the squad that they are happy with the team and confident that they can win the tournament with this bunch of players.

Meanwhile, South Africa also unveiled their jersey for the World Cup in the ‘Proteas Squad Announcement’ ceremony and announced that the jersey will be officially available in the stores from tomorrow.
