Chasing a daunting target of 170 runs, Bangladeshi batsmen strangled down the line by some air tight bowling by the Proteas and became all out at the second ball of their stipulated 20 over after collecting 138 runs falling behind 31 runs from the victory target.
Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar started the innings pretty well; together they built a 46 run partnership in the first wicket. But both of them lost their wickets in the consecutive overs, Soumya becoming the top scorer of Bangladesh for today’s match. He scored 37 runs in 21 balls with 6 fours and a six.
Flurry of wickets fall down in the middle of the Bangladesh innings which destroyed any hopes of a successful chase for the home side.
Six of the Bangladeshi batsmen failed to reach the double figure mark as the touring bowlers showed a complete dominance in the battle field.
Mushfiqur scored 19 (16 balls) with a sole four and a six while Rony Talukdar put up 21 runs in 22 balls with single six over the long off.
Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza entertained the crowd with his two successive shots of sixes.
