South Africa name second-string squad for Pakistan tour

South Africa have announced their squad for the three-match ODI and three-match T20 series against Pakistan. Although there are regular cricketers in the ODI team, there is a lack of experienced faces in the T20 team, as they will be busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) in that time.

The three-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan will start on April 2. The next two matches will be on April 4 and April 7, respectively. The first and last match will be in Centurion and the second match will be in Johannesburg. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the full strength team in this series.

Temba Bavuma will lead both the ODI and T20 sides in Pakistan tour. South African cricketers, who will play IPL, are all in the ODI squad. Only Faf du Plessis have been excluded from the squad.

Lizaad Williams has been named in the ODI squad for the first time. Sisanda Magala, who was dropped from the squad last year due to fitness, has returned to both squads. CSA has chosen the ODI squad with a mix of experience and youth.

The T20 series between the two teams will start on April 10 in Johannesburg. The next two matches will be on April 12 and April 14. The second will be in Johannesburg and the third will be in Centurion. On the other hand, IPL will start on April 9. That is why South Africa did not include the cricketers in T20 sqaud who got a team in the IPL.

Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and David Miller were left out of the T20 squad. All-rounder Wihan Lubbe has been called up to international cricket for the first time. He has been included in the T20 squad.
