Sri Lanka series will be cancelled if conditions not met, says BCB president
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon has said that if Sri Lanka Cricket Board doesn’t agrees with the proposed condition then the series will be cancelled. BCB has given two more conditions to the host board on the back of the conditions of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) regarding board members and quarentine issue.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play a three-match Test series in October-November as part of the ICC Test Championship. Although the schedule of the series has come forward, there has been uncertainty due to the objections of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
Before the series, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has laid down a number of rules on the terms of which the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has objected. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon told the media that the series could be canceled if the board did not comply with the conditions.
“The conditions that Sri Lanka has given are rare in history,” he told the media. It is not possible to go there with so many restrictions. A letter has been sent to Sri Lanka. We are waiting for their response.”
Sri Lanka will not give any local opponent in the preparation match of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka. Due to which the BCB wanted to take the high performance unit with it. But Sri Lanka objected and said that Bangladesh will not be able to take more than 30 members on the board.
Besides, although there are no conditions for isolation at the beginning, but Sri Lanka has formulated a compulsory isolation for 14 days. Although the BCB agreed to this, the BCB has given the condition to start the practice within these 14 days. And if these two conditions are not met, the game is being played in Lanka series!
