The former coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Tom Moody has said that Suryakumar Yadav has been phenomenal for Mumbai Indians this year. He also said that he could not believe as he has not represented India so far.

Suryakumar Yadav received a lot of supports when he was ignored by the selected for the Australia tour. But, he did not lose his confidence and continued to score runs in the IPL 2020.

In the recently concluded edition of IPL, the right-handed cricketer accumulated a total of 480 runs from 16 matches with the help of 4 fifties. Tom Moody was surprised with the amount of talent shown by the Mumbaikar.

“Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai Indians, coming at No. 3, it is just mind-blowing to think that this guy has not represented his country. He bats with great grace, control and he seems to do it without breaking a sweat. To me, he’s a real class act,” Moody said in a video on ESPNCricinfo.

Though the Mumbai Indians batsman did not find a spot in the international team, Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly informed that the right-hander will definitely play for his country.

The former Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir has also said that the KKR management made a mistake by letting him go.

“My player of the tournament would be Suryakumar Yadav because he batted at No. 3 which is a very crucial position and the way he batted. It’s not only about runs, but it’s also not because he is part of a champion team. It’s just the way he got those runs – with fluency. It was just sheer class and that’s why he is the player for me,” said Gambhir.
