BCB starts works to increase cricketers' practice facilities 

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
has started working very vigorously to increase the practice facilities of the
cricketers. The Grounds Committee of BCB has taken the initiative to open
practice facilities for various teams in different parts of the country.

practicing at the stadium in Mirpur. Where earlier only the national team was
busy, now there are many games, 'A' team, U-19, and women's team too. In that
case, increasing the practice facilities of the cricketers can be said to be
the crying need. 
BCB is going to open practice
facilities for different teams in different parts of the country. The work has
already started. Development work is planned for the U-19 team practice in
Rajshahi and women's team practice in Khulna. The work of Rajshahi has already
started. The rest of the work will start soon. BCB Grounds Committee Chairman
Mahbub Anam gave this information while talking to the media yesterday.
Anam said, “I have said earlier
that the size of our field, maintenance, and moderate games are very important
for the development of Bangladesh cricket. In this way, we have tried to spread
the games of the fields equally in the last 3 years. This gives the wickets a
rest and makes it possible to deliver good wickets. Similarly, where we are a
bit behind is the facility of practice.”
He added, "Earlier, only the
national team, the academy, and the under-19 team used to practice. Now the
U-19 women's team has come, the FTP of the national women's team has come. As a
result, we need practice facilities just as much as we need the field. We have
said in the past that we will work one center at a time and I have visited
Rajshahi to see the work progress of the centers we are working on. Our
surveyor has already gone to Rajshahi. After surveying Rajshahi and seeing our
SB drawing, we have already started working on Rajshahi. The indoor facility is
being renovated there. As we have opened practice facilities in Sylhet and Chattogram,
we will be able to open practice facilities in Rajshahi in the same way. The
work has already started and we hope to complete the work by monsoon. There we
will be able to open a permanent practice facility for the U19 team.”
A development plan has been
formulated for Khulna on the model of Rajshahi. The women's team will practice
there. Besides, Mahbub Anam said they will work in Barishal too. However, it
has not been announced which team will practice there.
Anam further said,
"Similarly, we will prepare Khulna for women's team practice. Our
surveyors are now doing the work of Rajshahi, after finishing the work in Rajshahi
they will take up the work of Khulna. Also, we will take up the work of Barishal.
NSC has developed the ground in Barishal. We will likewise prepare for
off-field practice facilities. Thus we will start working on providing practice
facilities for three teams in three regions this season. We hope to be able to
finish the work within this year.”
Anam also informed that the green
house shed, which was supposed to be installed in the BCB Academy field on the
model of Mount Maunganui in New Zealand, will be completed by June. As a
result, the Tigers will be able to practice even in the rain. Anam said that 20
wickets of the BCB academy ground will be brought under the shade.
