Master South African spinner Imran Tahir has recently been humiliated by Pakistan High Commission in Birmingham when he visited the office to issue visas for him and for his family members.
Tahir who was of Pakistani origin, has been serving South Africa internationally and currently ranked as number 2 bowler in ICC ODI bowler ranking.
Following the incident, Imran Tahir said, “I have undergone a very unfortunate situation in the Pakistani Consulate in Birmingham today. I had visited consulate to secure our Pakistani visas with the members of my family.”
“After going to the painful trauma of waiting for long 5 hours I was expelled by the stuff explaining that the office hours are over and they are closing the consulate,” he revealed.
Tahir further said, “It was only after the intervention of High Commissioner Ibn e Abbas who instructed the staff that we were issued visas. It’s an irony that being Pakistani origin South African cricketer and intended to play in World XI was treated so miserably. Hats to High Commissioner Ibn e Abbas who rescued me.”
